Hi, I’m Phyllis. The hands (and heart) behind PJ’s Petals.

Based at Bourock Barn, Lochrutton, Dumfries

Not a Franchise.
Just Phyllis.

In an industry full of call centres and "click-and-send" relay networks, I decided to do things differently.

I founded PJ's Petals on a simple belief: Flowers are personal.

Whether you are planning a wedding in Gretna Green or saying goodbye to a loved one in Dumfries, you aren't just buying stems. You are buying a feeling. You are telling a story.

That is why I chose to remain an independent specialist. When you call my number, you don't get a receptionist or a generic "sales team." You get me. I am the one who answers the phone, the one who sketches your design, and the one who gets up early to condition the stems.

Experience & Training

Trained at London's Prestigious Covent Garden Academy

Since establishing PJ's Petals in 2016, I've been privileged to create bespoke floral designs for hundreds of weddings, funerals, and special occasions across Dumfries and Galloway.

My journey as a professional florist was shaped by world-class training at the renowned Covent Garden Academy of Flowers in London. This intensive training equipped me with traditional floristry techniques and contemporary design skills that I bring to every arrangement.

From intimate hand-tied bouquets to elaborate venue installations, eight years of experience has taught me that the best floral design comes from truly listening to what each client needs and creating something uniquely personal for their special moment.

"Every arrangement tells a story. My training and experience help me translate your vision into beautiful, lasting memories."

— Phyllis, Founder of PJ's Petals

Why "Local" Matters.

I work from my studio at Bourock Barn in Lochrutton, right in the heart of the Dumfries & Galloway countryside. Being local isn't just a geography; it's a standard of quality.

I hand-select my flowers

I don't rely on bulk shipments that have sat in a warehouse for days. I source the freshest seasonal blooms, which is why my clients constantly tell me my arrangements last longer than anything they’ve bought from a supermarket.

I know the venues

From the lighting in the Blacksmiths Shop to the aisle width at Roucan Loch, I know the logistics of our local venues inside out.

I care

This is my community. My reputation is built on the happiness of my neighbours and the couples who visit our region.

A Cup of Tea & A Chat.

I don't believe in rushing. If you are planning a wedding or a funeral, the most important tool in my workshop isn't my scissors—it’s my ears.

I listen to what you need. You don't need to know the Latin names of flowers (that’s my job!). You just need to tell me how you want the day to feel.

Whether you want the wild, rustic look of a Scottish meadow or something clean and modern, I translate your words into petals.

Kind Words

Read what my wonderful clients have to say about their floral experiences.

"I've always loved Phyl's bouquets. They are beautifully put together and always outlast any flowers I've ever had before. Knowing this I definitely wanted my wedding bouquets done by her. Phyl put so much time and effort in... My bouquets were absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend."

Let’s Create Something Beautiful.

I pour my heart into every stem I cut. Being a solopreneur means I can’t take on every single job that comes my way—and that’s a good thing. It means that when I take on your wedding or your tribute, you have my undivided attention.

If you are looking for a florist who will treat your occasion with the care it deserves, I’d love to hear from you.
